The Boy's personal recollection of Mr Monster and the Abuse

The Man's official police statement lays bare 10 months of sustained abuse, inflicted every Tuesday and Thursday. He recalls 'He showed more interest in me than he did with the other children. On entering his house he would place his hand on my shoulder and sometimes pinch my bottom in a playful manner... During the lessons he would focus his attention on me, leaning over me making body contact... as time went by Mr Monster escalated in his actions... he would slip his hand under the table and start rubbing my leg from my knee upwards towards an area (private parts) where no adult should ever touch a child. Mr Monster would directly touch my penis over my clothing. This manner of touching continued over a period of a month without the other children being aware of what was occurring. Eventually the day came when he unzipped my trousers and inserted his hand within my underwear exposing my penis. He then started to masturbate me. This again was done in the presence of the other children... My embarrassment and shame was such that I remained routed to my chair hardly daring to move so that no one would notice. In my mind I knew that this was not right... I somehow felt it was wrong and shame and guilt started to affect me. I didn’t understand why he was doing this to me and not to the other children. I never told anyone, and his smiling face and self satisfaction portrayed on his features during these acts still haunt me'.

PT's eyewitness account of Mr Monster's behaviour towards The Boy

PT, another child who attended the lessons, gives a statement to the RGP. He recalls 'During the lessons there were approximately four children attending. I can recall that The Boy and I would sit together... Mr Monster was a weird individual... I looked at the weird ornaments and figures that he had in the house. These were statues and pictures of himself naked... His behaviour was also strange in that he would be very close to us physically... I noticed that he would become progressive starting with the shoulders and then the area of the abdomen, caressing and groping. He didn’t do this to me but I would see it on The Boy... at times we would get punished meaning that Mr Monster would seclude us in a different room, sometimes in the kitchen or in the living room... The Boy would be placed inside the living room.'

AB's eyewitness account of Mr Monster masturbating The Boy

AB gives an official statement to the RGP. He recalls Mr Monster giving The Boy more attention than the other children as Mr Monster 'would spend a lot of time with this boy. What was odd was that he would sit next to this boy with both his hands under the table. I could see that he was doing something with his hands under the table as all the time his arms where moving and his shoulders where moving as well. The boy used to sit there very still almost as if he was scared to move. Mr Monster would continue to do this for quite a long time, maybe around ten minutes. Once Mr Monster would move away this kid would seem to relax a bit as if he was relieved that Mr Monster had left him alone. This same things happened nearly every lesson.'.

The Mother's statement describing the Lessons

The Mother gives an official statement to the RGP. She describes the lessons starting in the summer of 1995, when The Boy was 10 years old, arranged to help with his dyslexia. She recalls 'The Boy then started getting private English during the summer holidays in 1995 with Mr Monster... The Boy was 10 years old when he was getting these lessons.. The Boy changed from when he was little...I decided to do my best to get out of Gibraltar so I applied through the courts in the end of January beginning of February 1996 in order to apply to take The Boy out of the Gibraltar jurisdiction. My lawyer had told me to present a case in order to facilitate this and told me to get witnesses. She told me to get the witnesses because they would say that The Boy would be better off out of Gibraltar and that the point I wanted to make to the court. Mr Monster's response to that... was yes'.

The Boy was 10 years old when he was getting these lessons, I noticed that after about a week or two The Boy would come home and say that he didn't want to go to theses lessons any more.'.
